ETA: I'm going away with family until the 26th, so please don't panic if my comment is a day late!

Dear Yuletide Writer,

Thank you so much for offering to write one of my teeny tiny fandoms! Please don't be intimidated by this Very Long Letter; looking at the Yuletide community it seems to be the consensus that long letters are preferred, so maybe read it as me trying to be helpful rather than a bunch of instructions?

Going through the fandoms in alphabetical order:

Callirhoe - Chariton )

Classical Greece and Rome History and Literature RPF: Callicratidas )

Diplomatic Immunity (NZ TV) )

Island at War (TV) )

General Things )

And I think that's everything covered. There's probably a lot more detail here than you need, and the example prompts are only there for inspiration purposes. My tastes are broad and my favourite kind of story is when the author really loves and believes in what they're writing, so if you have a story idea that isn't covered here, or even contradicts something I've said I liked, please go ahead and write it! I love surprises and I'm sure I'll love whatever it is you decide to write!

Dear Yuletide Writer,

This is my very first Yuletide and second fic exchange ever, so I hope this letter is not too vague or unreasonable! I usually don't read or write much fanfiction, but being a tag wrangler at AO3 I was sucked in by the irresistible fandom list. I kept wanting to claim fandoms to wrangle, until I realised that wrangling is much more fun (and pointful) when the fandoms have stories in them! So here I am.

Going through the requests in alphabetical order (edited for alphabetisation fail):

Biggles Series - W. E. Johns: Erich von Stalhein, James Bigglesworth )

Classical Greece and Rome History & Literature RPF: Antinous )

Moomins Series - Tove Jansson: The Snork Maiden )

The Silmarillion - J. R. R. Tolkien: Angrod, Aredhel, Eönwë, Mablung of Doriath )

General Notes )

Thank you so much for reading through all that! And thank you even more for writing for me!

Addendum (21/11/2010): I've just realised that writers like to find out about their recipients through reading their journals or googling them. I'm afraid I don't really feel comfortable unlocking the entries on this journal, and Tevildo is a common pseudonym. So I'll link to my profile at PI, a beta reading service where I'm currently active. My reading tastes are much broader than what I'm able (or was prompted) to write or have the patience to beta, though, so please don't be misled by what you find!

Addendum (23/11/2010): I forgot to add that if this letter is too vague, please feel free to ask me anything via the mods!

Love and purrs,

There upon a stony shelf was the castle of Tevildo. No pathway led thereto, and the place where it stood fell towards the woods in terrace after terrace so that none might reach its gates save by many great leaps, and those became ever steeper as the castle drew more nigh. Few were the windows of the house and upon the ground there were none -- indeed the very gate was in the air where in the dwellings of Men are wont to be the windows of the upper floor; but the roof had many wide and flat spaces open to the sun. Now does Tinuviel wander disconsolate upon the lowest terrace and look in dread at the dark house upon the hill, when behold, she came at a bend in the rock upon a lone cat lying in the sun and seemingly asleep. As she approached he opened a yellow eye and blinked at her, and thereupon rising and stretching he stepped up to her and said: "Whither away, little maid -- dost not know that you trespass on the sunning ground of his highness Tevildo and his thanes?"

--JRR Tolkien, The Tale of Tinuviel

This is a private journal. I am contactable via private message or email, thank you.
